Join our running event on a paradise – Denarau Island, Fiji. Hope to SEA YOU SOON.
Date: July 25th, 2023
Location: Denarau Island, Fiji
Distances: 42 KM, 21 KM
Start Time: 05:00 AM
End Time: 01:00 PM
Start Location: Bus stop in front of the entrance of Westin Hotel. Google Maps
Time Limit: 8 hours
The intended original loop was approximately 5.22 km however some part of this is now closed so we had to modify the route.
The following is the NEW route for Nadi Run 2023
START
The start location will be at the bus stop in front of the entrance of Westin Hotel. To be here in the morning, please ask a taxi to go to Westin Hotel Denarau Island and get off at the bus stop in front of the entrance.
ROUTE
From the starting point, you will run on the sidewalk towards the Sofitel and make a right turn. However, the property management asked all of us to use a crosswalk so you will need to go a bit further to cross the crosswalk
Then, follow the sidewalk to the front gate of Denarau Island Property and make a U-Turn in front of the gate. Come back to the same crosswalk back to the Westin station. This should be approximately 3.20 km. Feel free to get water/energy drink and continue to the other side.
From the Westin station, again follow the sidewalk and turn left in front of Sheraton Hotel, pass Radisson Blue Hotel and Wyndham Hotel until you hit the end of the sidewalk. You will see a 40 speed limit sign. That’s where you will need to make a turnaround. The property management has asked NOT to go beyond this point since this is the Wyndham Parking Lot and it’s also a turnaround for cars and buses. It will be busy in the morning.
Turnaround and come back to the Westin station. The distance on this side is around 2.30 km. So the complete loop on both sides will be approximately 5.50 km
If you registered for a full marathon (42.195 km), you will need to complete 7 full loops PLUS another front gate turn PLUS an extra Sheraton turn to make 42.195 km
If you registered for a half marathon (21.10 km), you will need to complete 3 full loops PLUS another front gate turn PLUS an extra Radisson Blu turn to make 21.10 km
Basically, you need to keep running until you hit 42.195 km or 21.1 km
WATER STATION
At the station in front of Westin Entrance, water, Powerade, Coca-Cola, M&M, and wipes will be provided. Ice in the cooler is intended to keep things cold, it may not be clean for consumption.
BAG DROP
You can leave your small bags at the station on your own risk. The timer won’t be able to take care of all your belongings. Do not leave any valuable items.
RESTROOM
The only restroom that we can use is Heineken House. However, you will need to cross the road and go off the route. So, please be careful.
DOs and DON’Ts
- Run single file. Don’t occupy the whole sidewalk. Pedestrians have the right of way.
- Don’t litter. Please throw away empty bottles, garbage only in the trash bag at the water station.
- Keep your voice down especially during the early hours.
RESULTS
You are required to show your GPS device that you have completed the registered distance to the timer for validation.
Only finishers will receive a medal, an e-certificate, and an official result.
The official results will be available here 48 hours after the race.
